We paid a very low rate for the room and were very pleased with the standard of the hotel.
We had a meal in the restaurant, it was a buffet and the food wasn't really up to the price. I'd reccomend going to the pub in the village instead.
Staff were accomodating and the breakfast was very good.
The De Vere Hunton Park is a lovely hotel to stay in. It is clean and the decoration standard is good. It has good facilities including a pool.
The staff weren't up to the standard of the facilities provided by the hotel. Don't get me wrong, they weren't awful, but they were not to a level you would expect at a hotel of this high standard.
As this was a very late booking, the price was exceptional. The location was excellent and the ambiance also.
If I had actually paid the full rate I would have been disappointed in the room size, two people have to take it in turns to manoeuvre the space.excellent for a single business man.
The location was lovely, surrounded by very attractive parkland. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold foods, and the staff were courteous, helpful and friendly.
The smell of the soap! The fact that the shower unit was difficult to use. There could have been more hanging space in the room.
Rooms very comfortable (apart from pillows) easy access to outside for smokers
Charge of £2.50 to pay by credit card seemed petty. Pillows were awful
The rooms were excellent.
The staff were not rube but more like arrogant. There was a wedding and we were told therefore we could not use the bar for a few hours. The pool was cold and the whirl pool was not working and there were no separation in changing rooms they were uni sex which is outrageous.
Fast wireless Internet and a free coffee bar
It was very comfortable and close to where we needed to be.
The grounds were very nice. Well preserved and spacious. Large, modern hotel kept very cleaned. Rooms were a nice size and clean. The swimming pool was a welcome relaxation, given that the hotel was a fair distance away from amenities etc (by foot). There was a restauarant there which seemed popular given that they were quite a few people there on the sat night. Overall, a luxurious and very comfortable stay at a budget price of 39pounds a night!
Location was good and bad at the same time. Buses were infrequent to watford toen centre and the staff did not know which bus would take us there. Jacauzi was out of order (has been for months) which was a shame. Breakfastat 7.50 was on the expensive side although we didn't have it.
Room was comfortable and the location for me was perfect as meeting up with friends locally.
There was a problem with our room that meant they had to book us into another hotel for the first night we were due to stay at Hunton. They handled this exceptionally and we got to stay in a nicer nearby hotel for the same cost.
Back at Hunton for the last day of my stay and I was not happy at all, because the sound of a boiler sent vibrations through my room erratically all night. My lack of sleep and subsequent grumpiness, did not stop the receptionist from handling the complaint well, and reimbursing me for the nights stay. The hotel rather sucks (it looks like a country houses but is a load of annexes) but the staff are excellent.
The grounds and the hotel itself were very nice,
There was a wedding on, we had a drunk person sat outside our door when we returned to the room, children were running in the corridors, banging on our door, and doors being slammed shut, it was so noisy and not what we wanted we left during the night.
The reception staff were very efficient and friendly, I requested extra milk and someone came in only a few minutes with a jug. My room overlooked the park and with the window open the bird song was very pleasant considering we were so close to the M25.
I was surprised that the toiletries for a De vere hotel were just shampoo and soap. Also the carpet was pale with many spilages by previous guests so on entering the room it was the first thing I saw. However, the room, bed linen and bathroom were very clean.
The staff were helpful and the hotel was very clean in the areas we used.
The room was extremely hot and the jacuzzi wasn't working. This was an issue for me as I was potentially going to be on my own and would have liked to have been able to spend time chilling out in it.
